Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola claims Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere would not get in his first-team squad.
Barca and the Gunners go head-to-head tonight in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, with the visitors taking a 2-1 lead to the Camp Nou from the first leg.
Alongside captain Cesc Fabregas, Wilshere is expected to play a key role in Arsenal’s bid to reach the quarter-finals by ousting the team currently considered the best in the world.
But while admitting he has been impressed with the 19-year-old England international, Guardiola claims Wilshere would have to settle for a place in the Catalan giants’ second string if he made a move to Spain.
The Barcelona boss said: “Wilshere is a top player.
“He has been a big surprise. I did not know him at the beginning of the season.
“He is an excellent player, not just Arsenal, but also for the national team. We have many players like him in our second team.
“It is very good news for football to have players like him.”
