Arsenal forward Marouane Chamakh believes tonight’s Champions League clash with Braga is the perfect chance to get over their derby-day disappointment.
The Gunners squandered a two-goal lead at the Emirates Stadium as they lost 3-2 to North London rivals Tottenham at the weekend.
And Chamakh believes the chance to book their place in the knockout stage of the Champions League will help Arsenal move on from that result.
The Morocco international said: “It will help us to forget the Tottenham game and we must focus on Braga and get a victory.”
Arsenal routed the Portuguese side 6-0 in their previous group-stage encounter and will be well aware that another victory would secure their place in the next round of this season’s competition.
But Chamakh knows that, with Arsenal level with Shakhtar Donetsk on nine points and Braga just behind on six, he and his team-mates cannot afford a negative result.
He added: “The group is tight. There are three teams going for top spot so we know we need to get a win over there.”
