Arsenal have been drawn to face Barcelona in a mouth-watering last-16 tie in the Champions League.
The Gunners ultimately paid the price for not winning their group by being handed the toughest fixture they could have received in the draw in Switzerland.
These two sides met in the quarter-finals of last season’s competition when Arsenal came from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium, but they bowed out with a 4-1 defeat in the return game at the Camp Nou, with Lionel Messi netting all four.
The Gunners also suffered Champions League final heartache at the hands of Barcelona in 2006, and club secretary David Miles feels it is time the English club gained a measure of revenge.
He told Sky Sports News: “The last couple of times we've played Barcelona they have got the better of us, so it's about time we turned the tables on them and hopefully we can progress instead of them this year.
"We will take them on, we're looking forward to two good games, two great teams playing attacking football. We'll look forward to it.”
Arsenal will host Barcelona in the first leg, to be held on Wednesday, February 16, before completing the tie on Tuesday, March 8.
