Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is facing another spell on the sidelines after sustaining an injury during Tuesday night’s Champions League defeat.
Fabregas, who has only just returned from a hamstring problem, had to be withdrawn during the second half of the 2-0 defeat to Portuguese side Braga after injuring the hamstring in his other leg.
And Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, who also lost Emmanuel Eboue to injury in the same game, admits his decision to field Fabregas had backfired badly.
The Frenchman said: “Eboue will be out for a while and we will have to assess Fabregas. It could be two to three weeks.
“It is very disappointing because I had a hesitation to play him before the match started. I took the gamble and it backfired on us.”
