Cesc Fabregas eyes return against Blackburn

Football News Staff - 24 Mar 2011
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas hopes to make his return from injury against Blackburn Rovers on April 2.

Fabregas has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury during the Champions League defeat to Barcelona earlier this month, but he returned to light training this week and is confident of being back to full fitness for the first game after the international break.

The Spanish World Cup winner said during a live video stream on Twitter: “Everything is getting better.

“It's been a weird season for me with injuries and I just want to make it right, and I want to come back stronger than ever and fitter than ever so that it won't happen again.

“Hopefully you will see me against Blackburn if I'm fit.”

Meanwhile, the injury-plagued Gunners are now sweating over the fitness of forward Nicklas Bendtner.

Bendtner, currently away with the Denmark national team, needed ice treatment after limping off during a training session with his country on Wednesday.
