Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere has shot down suggestions he could join Manchester City in the summer.
The 19-year-old midfielder has become a key figure in the Gunners’ starting XI this season and in the process has forced his way into the England senior team.
Reports over the weekend suggested Wilshere could follow Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure in making big-money switch to the City of Manchester Stadium, but the teenager insists he is going nowhere.
Wilshere wrote on his Twitter account: “People asking if I'm going City? I don’t kiss the Arsenal badge then leave. This club (is) in my heart.”
Meanwhile, the youngster has claimed that the Gunners have an advantage over Manchester United in the race for the Premier League title.
Arsenal currently trail United by seven points, but Wilshere feels the Red Devils are being stretched by their participation in both the Champions League and FA Cup.
He said: “United rotated their team against Fulham and did well. But I think eventually playing in Europe is going to catch up with them.
“We have a week between every game so it can only be good for us.
“We have a game in hand and United have still got to come to the Emirates. If we win those games we are within one point of them.
“We are confident they will drop points. We are ready to take advantage if they slip.”
