Andrey Arshavin: Arsenal have an edge in title race

Football News Staff - 1 Apr 2011
Andrey Arshavin believes Arsenal can pip Manchester United to the Premier League title because of a less hectic run-in.

While the Gunners only have Premier League games left to play in their 2010/11 campaign, United also remain in both the FA Cup and Champions League, meaning they could end up playing seven games more than the North London club over the final few months of the season.

And Arsenal star Arshavin believes that will give him and his team-mates the upper-hand in their bid to end a six-year trophy drought.

The 29-year-old told Sky Sports News: “I think our schedule is not so bad, that is why if we win all our games we have a good chance to be champions.

“I think everyone in our team would prefer to have more possibilities than only one trophy, but everything is in the past, that is why we have to concentrate on the Premier League matches.

“Straight after it was very difficult for everyone, but now we have come back after the internationals and have refreshed our minds and maybe it will help us.

“I think we are in the race.”
